Abby’s dress was a bespoke one, which combined 3 of my existing designs: Larkspur, Lilac and Dahlia.

We took the panelled silk-satin flowing skirt of Larkspur, and added a puddle train. On top, the delicate lace of Lilac was used, but instead of a sheer lace over-dress, I made Abby a silk-lined top, which was nipped in at the waist (like Dahlia) and flared out ever so slightly over the skirt. The front top neckline was originally going to be high like Dahlia’s, but Abby made a last minute switch to a V neck front instead. The back neckline was a gently curved V, cut out to just above the waist.

Abby and Conor are originally from Aberdeen, but live together in Leeds, and chose to get married in beautiful York. Grays Court made the most stunning venue – such a gorgeous building inside and out, set in the shadow of York Minster. Their day was elegant and classy, with cream flowers and dusky pink bridesmaid dresses.

“I just wanted to send you a message to say thank you so much! We had the most amazing day and thank you for making the wedding dress I have always wanted. You have been brilliant throughout the whole process, even when I almost brought you to tears changing my mind and having to cut the dress with me in it! I had so many comments on the day about how beautiful the dress was and I felt so special wearing it. I can’t thank you enough!” Abby
