Cathryn and her mum came along to see me on the hunt for a vintage dress. They both fell for this incredible lace gown, which fitted Cathryn as though it had been made for her.
This beautiful 1950s gown features delicately embroidered lace on the bodice and sheer long sleeves. The gently gathered tulle skirt has lace appliqued over it, and is supported by several layers of lining material to give it a little structure.
Cathryn’s dress needed a few tiny tweaks to tidy it up and make it perfect for her. She paired it with a lace trimmed veil which she chose from my studio samples, and I had made for her by HM Veils.
From Cathryn’s mum Chris: “The dress and veil could not have been more perfect, they suited her in every way and looked amazing. The thought that Cathryn wore a dress that was sixty years old just added a feeling of continuity to the wedding service which was appreciated by the wedding party and guests.
I can’t thank you enough for your help. We had the most joyous of days, its just a shame that we cant do it all over again!”
