Mai Mai’s was my first fully paid-up commission, and I was super lucky that she happens to be an absolute sweetheart!
Mai’s dress is made from delicate ivory guipure lace lined with a pale silver silk. The silk dress scooped out at the back at curved up around the bust, while the lace continued up to cover the back and create a V neck front with cap sleeves.
The dress fitted snugly over the waist and hips and then gently kicked out just below the knee to form a curvy fishtail-esque silhouette.
The finishing touches were a vintage silver brooch and a long silver ribbon tied at the back.
“I couldn’t have made a better decision to have the very lovely Kate Beaumont help design and make my dress. She was patient when I wasn’t too sure what I wanted right at the beginning, and listened and made suggestions to help me achieve my dream dress. Kate made the potentially daunting process a real joy, and the outcome of our enjoyable fitting sessions in her studio was just what I had wished for – if not better!
I’m already missing the catch ups over tea and the excitement of getting to the finished product. Thank you so so much Kate!”
