Sofia loved Foxglove from the start, but made a few changes to make it perfectly hers. She switched the skirt colour from cream to oyster, and the top from gold to steel, which we matched with a beautiful grey floral lace. I added the scallop edge of the lace to the underbust seam running to the back waist, and a row of fabric covered buttons and roleau loops at the centre back. Sofia chose a stunning cape from my studio samples which was made to order for her from HM Veils – edged at the neckline in lace.
Sofia and Dan’s beautiful humanist ceremony took place at the Holywell Music Rooms in Oxford. Sofia’s a florist and (unsurprisingly!) did an incredible job with the flowers. They walked through the scenic Oxford streets to their reception at The Jam Factory, where tables were decorated with more flowers and foliage, and record sleeves from some of their favourite artists.
“Of all the parts of the process of planning our wedding, creating my dress with your beyond brilliant guidance and skill, not to mention warmth, humour and genuine care at every stage, was my favourite part. As I said before, never change! You are a breath of fresh air in a crowded, often same-same and fickle industry.”
