Married: Jen + Joe
Gorgeous Jen lives in Dorset, and combined her fitting with me with trips up north to visit her mum who lives nearby. Jen’s mum Catherine came along to every fitting too, and I have to say I’ve developed quite a soft spot for this lovely monther and daughter duo!
Jen knew from the start that she wanted her dress to be gold, and we found the most beautiful silk swatch in green-gold – an amazing colour that changed in the light and looked so incredible with Jen’s bright red hair.
This thirties-inspired dress was cut on the bias to cling to the body in all the right places. A favourite jersey dress of Jen’s was the inspiration for the lightly gathered bust and wide waist panel. We extended the sides of the waist panel to create a sash, and added more light gathering to the top of the skirt. The dramatic back view featured a deep back V, tied sash and a rounded puddle train. But it was the epaulettes that made this dress truly special – a pair of golden beaded Olivia accessories specially made by Debbie Carlisle. Jen’s mum – who gave her away – also wore one of the same gold Olivia accessories in her hair.
Jen accessorised with gold Rachel Simpson shoes and a hand embroidered metallic feather hair clip by Colette Malouf. Her four bridesmaids wore dresses made by her aunt in purple and deep red silk.
Jen and Joe were married at Walcott Hall in Shropshire – the most amazingly quirky venue – featuring incredible accommodation spread throughout the woodland, including a brightly painted wooden chapel where they spent their wedding night.
Their whole beautiful day was expertly captured by photographer Milly Colley.
