Married: Caroline + Sid
Caroline fell for my Dahlia dress right away, so much so that it was the only one she tried on and she booked me on the spot. What had begun so simply then got a lot more complicated, as Caroline found out she was (unexpectantly) pregnant. The wedding date was originally set for next April, but Caroline and Sid decided to bring it forward to September, by which time Caroline would be three-months pregnant. Luckily, their venue, photographer and caterers were available, and so I managed to squeeze Caroline in for last minute fittings to make sure her dress fitted perfectly around that baby bump!
The tight deadline meant that Caroline had to choose an alternative lace for her dress, as the original design was out of stock at my supplier’s. She opted for a bold all-over floral lace of a silimar weight, which worked beautifully. We added half-sleeves and made front and back necklines higher and rounder, plus a row of pearl buttons at the back and a satin ribbon sash at the waist.
Caroline and Sid were married at their local church in East Yorkshire, then headed to Harpham Village Hall (via the pub!) which they’d decorated beautifully with reams of bunting, light-up letters and tables full of heather, flowers and trailing foliage – which Caroline’s florist mum did a wonderful job of. A gorgeously styled laid-back wedding, especially impressive given the super short turnaround!
Thanks so much Neil Jackson Photography for these stunning images.
