Married: Ellie + Alex

Ellie Blog1

Ellie was such a pleasure from start to finish. She’d been to plenty of wedding dress shops before she came to see me, and was feeling rather disenchanted – both by the process and the dresses she was presented with. Happily, she loved my Lilac dress immediately, and we agreed on a few changes to the original design to make it totally perfect for her.

We raised the front and back necklines, turning the front into a boat-neck. We added half-sleeves, lengthened the lace over-dress and added a row of delicate pearl buttons at the centre-back. The slip’s back V was also raised slightly (so that Ellie could wear a strapless bra), and we added a small puddle train too. She finished the dress off with a lace-trimmed veil which I ordered for her from Helen Martin Veils.

Childhood sweethearts Ellie and Alex opted for two striking venues: they were married at Nottingham Cathedral and held their reception at Swan Car Farm. Alex created their beautiful stationary and named their tables after British birds. Florals were stunning and plentiful in a pallette of dusky pinks, creams and greens. They rounded off their celebrations off with a ceilidh – perfect for getting everyone up on the dancefloor.

Thanks so much to Jenna Woodward Photography for these stunning images.
