Married: Joanna + Steven
Joanna was six months pregnant when she first got in touch, and was getting married a year later. We had originally planned for her to wear a bespoke version of my Camellia slip beneath the Larkspur skirt, but Joanna later decided she wanted to be a little more covered up, so we added a lace top based on my Lilac design, with the most beautiful floaty sleeves and a row of pearl buttons down the back. The Larkspur skirt was made from oyster coloured silk satin instead of the original pale pink shade.
Joanna’s fittings were squeezed into a smaller than usual timeframe, so she had time to adapt to being a mum of two, and gave her body some time to get back to normal.
Joanna and Steven were married in what she referred to with a smile as “the shed” – a corregated steel barn in Steven’s parents’ garden in Buxton. Apparently lots of people thought she was crazy to want to get married there – it was a little rough around the edges to say the least – but Joanna could see its potential and set about clearing away the mess and planning the décor to transform it into something amazing – which as you can see she absolutely did!
Huge thanks to the amazing Rosie Hardy for these superb images.
