Married: Joanne + Luke
I first met Joanne when I was exhibiting at The Secret Vintage Wedding Fair in Manchester. I was part-way through making my Collection at the time, so didn’t have all my gowns with me, but Joanne liked the style of my dresses and got in touch a few months later to arrange an appointment at my studio. She loved Peony as soon as she tried it on, and we made a few changes to the design of the lace top to make it perfect for her. We added long sleeves, lengthened the hemline, and made a low V at the back neckline, widening the front neckline to suit the back’s new style lines.
Joanne and Luke were married at the stunning Hill Top Country House in Cheshire. They were both incredibly hands-on with their wedding planning, and made or collected almost all of the decor themselves. This wedding was full of personal details and touches – the RSVPs were returned by guests adorned with drawings which were displayed on the marquee walls, and the guest book was a globe which messages were written on in marker pen (such a good idea!).
Best of all though was the cake theme which ran throughout the day. Friends and family were invited to bake for their Great Wedding Bake Off, and Joanne and Luke judged the entries and awarded best and worst prizes. The wedding rings were even kept safely on a bourbon biscuit shaped ring cushion.
There’s so much laughter and such a sense of fun in this set of wedding images, which sums up Joanne and Luke just about perfectly I’d say.
Thanks to the awesome Ragdoll Photography for these gorgeous images.
