Briony
Briony was initially torn between Astilbe and Hollyhock, and booked in before she’d made her final decision. She eventually chose Astilbe, but once I’d finished my new collection she fell hard for Geranium and changed her mind. An unexpected pregnancy just three months before the wedding meant we needed to make some pretty major adjustments to the design – raising and curving the waistband over her bump and adding in a pair of pleats at each side of the front skirt, to allow her bump room to swell in the evening. All this had to be done just a couple of weeks before the wedding to ensure we got the fit just right – which was a teeny bit stressful here in the studio! But everything worked out perfectly and she looked and felt wonderful – phew!
Briony and Duncan were married at the beautiful Loosehill House in the Peak District. They married outside in the bandstand, overlooking the surrounding countryside. Their two little boys made gorgeous pageboys and were on hand to help out with the rings. Their day was filled with flowers and lots of lovely details, and Briony at least managed one glass of champagne to toast with.
“Thank you so much for making me the most beautiful dress for my wedding day. I knew as soon as I saw your designs that they were the style of dress I was after, and you certainly didn’t disappoint! I hope it wasn’t too much of a challenge overcoming the baby bump! The dress looked stunning.” Briony
