Alexe
Alexe kept me on my toes throughout our time together. Not only did she change her chosen dress completely once I’d completed my new Collection, she also joined Slimming World and lost an impressive 4 inches from around her waist.
Alexe’s finished dress combined her favourite bits from my Dahlia and Wild Lupin dresses. From Dahlia we took the panelled skirt and the repeated-scallop lace that Alexe adored. From Wild Lupin we took the gold silk and ivory lace colour palette, and the combination of different laces. The back and side panels of the top of Alexe’s dress were covered in polka dot tulle, which exposed her back across her shoulder blades where the gold silk lining scooped down.
Alexe wore pink flowery Dr Marten’s on her feet, a stunning pink-toned bespoke floral headpiece from Amanda Moon, and an incredible bespoke felted wool and silk golden wrap made for her by Giedre Sadauskaite.
Alexe and Declan were married at The Ashes in Leek; gorgeous rustic barns surrounded by countryside. Their day was laid-back and full of love and laughter. Home made bunting adorned the walls and tables were decorated with cacti potted up in various tea pots and crockery borrowed from Alexe’s mum’s collection. Their wedding cake was savoury rather than sweet – two tiers of pork pie and a top tier of cheese.
