Stephanie sent me the loveliest email to request an appointment, telling me that she thought my dresses were “understatedly beautiful” and exactly what she’d like for her wedding. With her permission I’ve borrowed this phrase repeatedly, as I think it describes my dresses perfectly.
Stephanie chose a bespoke version of my Larkspur lace top to be worn over a silk-satin slip. I flipped the lace so that the scallop edge ran along the hem, and added a boat-neck front and V back which we edged in silk binding, plus a row of pearl buttons down the back.
Steph and Jeremy were married in the beautiful grounds of Woodthorpe Hall in Derbyshire. Their wedding was a relaxed, laid-back affair, with plenty of live music from the groom and guests to keep everyone entertained.
“To say the day was perfect would be to do it an injustice. It wasn't perfect in the sense of being a precisely executed traditional white wedding we are all meant to aspire to. It was perfect because it far exceeded by wildest expectations in terms of being such great fun! It was a laid back, and joyous occasion, surrounded by the people we love, and your dress was a perfect fit: exquisite, understatedly elegant, and perfect for dancing in. Thank you so, so much.” Stephanie
