Vicky
Vicky loved the textures of silk and lace bridal fabrics, but wanted to use them to create a coloured wedding dress instead of sticking to a traditional bridal palette.
She decided on a blue-green chiffon and a grey French lace (Larkspur lace which we had dyed to create the perfect shade for her), and we designed a high-necked, long-sleeved gown with a small diamond shaped waist panel underneath a lightly gathered bust, a full swooshy skirt with a petite puddle train. The lace was left sheer at the upper back, décolletage and sleeves, and I added a pair of antique silver glass buttons at each wrist.
Vicky made her own veil from pale grey silk tulle, and teamed her wedding outfit with the most striking accessories, including a leather clutch bag made by her dad, and a pair of absolutely beautiful green and gold Chie Mihara shoes. By not limiting herself to a bridal colour palette, Vicky was able to choose colourful accessories which she’ll wear again and again.
Vicky and Gareth had their ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception at Halifax Hall in Sheffield – though snuck off out into the Peak District with their photographer to get some stunning portraits.
“I just wanted to say thank you SO MUCH again for making my beautiful wedding dress. My appointments with you were hands down the best bit of the wedding planning process, I had so much fun and I'm really grateful that I could talk through the whole outfit with you and show you the pretties I was buying to go with it (like a magpie bringing shiny things to a nest!!). Gareth and me were so pleased you could come to the wedding. When we were opening our cards afterwards I showed him the card you put in with my dress and he burst into tears (in a good way!).” Vicky
