Silk bridal jumpsuit for a cool, relaxed plus size bride

Holly first contacted me with the loveliest email, telling me she was struggling to find the sort of wedding day outfit she was hoping to wear as a plus size bride. They were planning a laid-back wedding, and she wanted to look cool and relaxed on the day, in something not too formal but with a nod to bridal. She mentioned she might be up for wearing a jumpsuit, and I pointed her to our Forget-Me-Not silk bridal jumpsuit, which happily turned out to be just what she was looking for.

We created a mock-up bridal jumpsuit in the right size for Holly to try on, then set about tweaking a few design details to make it bespoke and perfect for her – adding in a pair of lightly gathered half sleeves in an opaque silk georgette, and raising the back V so she was able to wear a bra. Holly styled her jumpsuit with a gorgeous, sequinned jacket from Rixo, gold heels and a killer Swallows & Damsons bouquet.

An intimate Sheffield wedding and laid-back, friend-focused celebration

Holly and Dan were married in an intimate ceremony at Sheffield Town Hall with just two witnesses. They headed to the iconic Park Hill flats for portraits, ate at Pearl at Park Hill, then on to Peddler Market to meet their friends for a super-relaxed, low-key celebration.
