Leah
Leah lives in the US, and though she’d tried on some stunning gowns over there she hadn’t found one that was quite right, so after a few emails and a Zoom call she very bravely took a risk on Viola, and luckily it turned out to be absolutely perfect for her – phew!
To be on the safe side we sent over a toile dress in the right size for Leah to try on with her friend’s help over another Zoom call with me, along with some silk and lace colour swatches so Leah could be sure of the quality and colour options she was ordering from afar. Once we were happy with how the toile fitted, Leah returned it to me with a few alterations pinned in place, and we set about making her version in the sea pearl silk-satin and silver lace she’d ordered. We’d agreed to leave the front hem unfinished for a local tailor to get just right for Leah once she had her shoes finalised and could be fitted in person.
Leah and Ron – like so many others – had their wedding plans delayed by Covid, and so married later than planned in May at Firehouse Chicago. An historic, intimate venue where they were able to hold the ceremony and celebrations outdoors.
“I am just without words. I felt more beautiful yesterday than I ever have. You have a gift, not just for making beautiful gowns, but for giving the gown-wearer confidence and majestic joy. I am so glad I googled “deco wedding gown” and found you! So so so much love and appreciation, Leah (And Ron, who said it was the best wedding gown he’s ever seen.)“ Leah
