Nicole knew she wanted something bespoke from the start, though the exact design developed during our time together – in fact it changed completely from what it started out as!
Big sleeves were always high up on Nicole’s wish list, and we created a pair of real showstoppers for her. The sea-pearl heavyweight silk-satin she chose worked perfectly to give volume to the shape she opted for, and we sandwiched a layer of stiff tulle between the satin and the lining to add extra lift. The high collar and sleeve cuffs were topped with our Astilbe lace, which added subtly contrasting detail. The cut out at the back gave a peek of bare skin, and we kept the skirt length to just below the knee – getting longer at the outer edges – to give balance to the closed-up front and voluminous sleeves.
Nicole and Jess were married at The Chimney House – an intimate ceremony and celebration surrounded by family and friends, with their three children alongside them.
