Oonagh
Dress details
Oonagh loved several of our vintage-inspired bias-cut silk wedding dresses, and in the end we created her a custom gown that combined her favourite elements from two gowns. We kept the V neck and gathering under the bust from Viola, along with those striking silver lace cap sleeves and belt. Oonagh was less keen on Viola’s diagonal panels running down the skirt sides from the waist, so we omitted those and created a smooth waist seam and simplified skirt for her, like Lily’s. We also went with Lily’s pale ivory silk-satin, which paired up with the silver lace beautifully. Oonagh added in a lace trimmed Mantilla veil to finish her look - understated elegance and glamour all around.
The Wedding
Oonagh and Dov were due to marry in Edinburgh in 2020, but like so many couples their plans were delayed and rearranged. In their case, their wedding was eighteen months later than planned, with a change in venue to boot. They married in April at the stunning Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, with an outdoor ceremony under the canopy of a circle of giant redwood trees.
Kind Words
“I just wanted to send a little note to say thank you for my gorgeous dress and all your support over the past few years of planning. I LOVED wearing the dress and the whole process was so enjoyable which was much needed when pandemic planning! Your studio was a little retreat of wedding loveliness!” Oonagh
