Dress details
Rachel chose our Peony bridal separates: a round neck, short sleeved floral lace top + polka dot tulle gathered skirt + silk-satin slip dress. For Rachel we made the slip necklines sit higher at front and back, so she could wear more supportive underwear. Peony’s bohemian, laid-back wedding day look was perfect for Rachel. She added one our bugle beads belt at the waist, and wore silver clogs and a delicate beaded headpiece.
The Wedding
Rachel and James married at Barff House in East Yorkshire – a Georgian house surrounded by countryside. Their ceremony was in the barn, then after drinks outside in the gardens they feasted outdoors under a marquee, then headed back to the barn for dancing.
Rachel is a doctor working in fisheries research, and I love that they’ve incorporated her beloved fish into their wedding décor, with some beautifully illustrated underwater scenes on their signage.
I’d made Rachel’s sister Louise’s Viola gown back in 2020, so it was a treat for us to catch up at fittings, and it’s wonderful seeing both sisters and their lovely mum enjoying themselves in Rachel’s pictures.
