Emily

Emily made an enviable quick decision on Dahlia for her wedding, adding three-quarter sheer lace sleeves, a V neck front and raising the back a little to make it just right for her. Later on we decided to add in scallop edge along the neckline too, and a row of buttons and loops to close up the back.

Things got a lot less straightforward from there, starting with Covid putting her wedding plans to Nick back a year. Then last minute rule changes ahead of their rescheduled July date meant they’d be unable to have a dance-floor at the warehouse wedding they’d planned, so they made a very brave decision to switch everything to an outdoor venue, with only a month to go! Emily and Nick found a field in the Peak District to host them, a marquee company and caterers, and the wonderful Inner City Weddings to pull everything together. To add in extra stress, there was a Covid case in teacher Emily’s school which meant she had to isolate until the day before the wedding, so I had to deliver her dress to her by taxi and have her final fitting in her alleyway!

Their legal ceremony went ahead as planned at Ecclesall Woods Discovery Centre, with an additional ceremony delivered in front of all their guests later on. Plus there was dancing – so much dancing! These two put their fun-loving personalities all over their celebrations, and in such a short space of time too, they really do deserve such a lot of credit for staying calm among all the chaos!

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you again for helping me feel so beautiful and comfortable on our wedding day. It has been a joy getting to know you all and I really miss my visits! Thank you for always putting me at ease, celebrating my weight loss (even though it meant more work for you!) and being so flexible and creative in disastrous circumstances!” Emily

“Cannot thank you enough for the beautiful job you did on Emily's dress. She looked fantastic and she felt beautiful, which every bride should on their special day. It was the perfect dress for her.” Steve & Lynette – Emily’s parents
