Carla had seen a couple of wedding dresses elsewhere that she liked but didn’t totally love, so we set about combining the bits she liked best from each one to make something perfect for her.

We created a design which combined bias-cut silk and lace to stunning effect – a long gold silk gown with a deeply scooped out back, underneath a shorter delicate french lace overdress. The lace dress started at the nape of the neck, creating a sheer covering for Carla’s back. The dress had a V necked front and was lightly gathered under the bust, and tiny capped sleeves – all finished with the lace’s delicate scallop edging.

Carla and Sam’s wedding was a tale of two very different venues: the sumptuously detailed period reception rooms at Sheffield Town Hall, and the modern light-filled space at The Millennium Gallery. The couple added decorations to suit their emerald green colour scheme to make the bright white Gallery space their own, including home brew wedding favours with labels created by graphic designer Sam.

“Thank you so so so so much!!! I loved the dress, as you know, but EVERYONE who saw it loved it too. And not just my friends and family…lots of strangers in town told me how beautiful it was too! You’re a wonder!” Carla
