Ellie loved my Lilac lace overdress and silk-satin slip, and made a few changes to the original design to make both pieces perfectly hers.

We swapped Lilac’s front V neckline to a wide boat-neck, and raised the back V a little. We lengthened the lace dress, added half-sleeves and a row of pearl buttons down the centre back. The back of the slip was also cut a little higher, and we added a small puddle train too.

Ellie had been feeling pretty disillusioned with her dress search before she came to see me, and I’m so happy that I could help her feel like her best-ever-self on her wedding day.

Childhood sweethearts Ellie and Alex opted for two striking venues: they were married at Nottingham Cathedral and held their reception at Swan Car Farm. Alex created their beautiful stationary and named their tables after British birds. Florals were stunning and plentiful in a palette of dusky pinks, creams and greens. They rounded off their celebrations off with a ceilidh – perfect for getting everyone up on the dance floor.

“Thank you so much for making my beautiful dress and for making me feel so amazing on our wedding day. I think before I came to see you I had resigned myself, after a few months of frustrated searching, to thinking I’d just have to wear one of the dresses I’d seen but not felt like me in. Coming out of my first visit to you I was so relieved and so pleased. Someone who finally actually listened to what I wanted and had such a gorgeous vision! So thank you for making me feel like me, the best version of me, on our wedding day and for making the whole process of creating my absolute dream dress such fun. P.S. The dress really was the star of the day in such a wonderful way, so many people said how beautiful it is. Still want to wear it every day!” Ellie
