Grace
Grace had modelled every single one of my wedding dress designs, so I had no idea what she’d decide to go with when it came to planning her own wedding gown. Luckily, she’s a big fan of what I do, and so we worked together to adapt her favourite from my Collection – Hollyhock – and make a version just for her.
We changed the silk lining colour from pale pink to champagne, changed the front and back necklines to Vs, and softened their lines by appliquéing the lace scallop edge, and fully lined the back of the top in silk.
Grace and Hugh had the most wonderful, eclectic wedding which reflected this lovely (and very silly) pair perfectly. They were married at Sheffield Town Hall, then greeted friends outside at the Peace Gardens and Winter Gardens, before heading out into the Peak District for a few portrait shots. Their reception was held at Burton Street Foundation – home to an amazing community organisation that supports adults with learning disabilities. Lots of funny and emotional speeches, a rousing group rendition of ‘Jerusalem’, folk songs performed by Grace’s dad, a cake competition (Grace is in the WI and her friends took this very seriously – some exceptionally tasty entries) and wedding favours featuring easter chicks and totoro stickers – all helped to make this a joy-filled and unforgettable celebration. So much love for this fantastic couple.
