Jill had already found her beautiful Catherine Deane silk tulle skirt when she came to see me, and was looking to find a top that she loved as much. We agreed on a bespoke silk-slip-lined, shorter version of my Larkspur lace top, with a boat neck front and deep V back. I flipped the lace around so that the scallop edge ran along the hem, and the neckline was edged with silk binding. We left the fit a little more boxy than usual, which balanced with the slimline skirt beautifully. The top was finished with a tiny row of pearl buttons at the back.
Jill and Antoine were married at Sheffield’s gorgeous Abbeydale Picture House. Their wedding was the first legal ceremony to be held on site - the license came through only a few days before! They served foods from lots of their favourite local businesses – Italian sandwiches, naan breads, doughnuts and much more – and oodles of French wine and cheese.
