I’d been recommended to Jo by a friend of one of my first brides - Mai Mai - some time before she got in touch – she delayed as she’d been determined to find a ‘not too wedding-y’ dress on the high street. Three months before the wedding she realised she wasn’t going to find what she was looking for, and made an appointment to come and see me.

Joanna was initially torn between 3 of my dresses, and eventually chose Wild Lupin. I think she made the perfect decision for her relaxed, outdoor, festival-inspired wedding. Jo loved the Wild Lupin dress just as it came, so the only changes we made were to add a small puddle train, and change the double scallop edge tiers for singles, as she planned to wear flat shoes on the day and the details would have been lost without the space to break up the tiers.

Jo and Jonathan spread their wedding over a whole weekend, with guests camping out in gorgeous bell tents at Clophill – in a field close to Jo’s parents’ home in Hertfordshire. Although it rained on the Friday, Saturday was as glorious a day as they could have hoped for, and the ceremony, speeches, games and music were all outdoors.

“How can I ever thank you?! I had such an amazing weekend, it was just incredible. My dress received so many compliments, our photographer was totally in love with it and said it was the most beautiful wedding dress she had ever seen. I felt amazing in the dress and it was so comfortable. So comfortable in fact that I was running around the farm in my converse in it, doing lifts in the air to Kate Bush with my friends and getting down on the dance floor with the silent disco! I just loved it, and I loved the whole experience with you.” Jo
