Jodie wore my Peony separates for her wedding: lace top and polka dot tulle gathered skirt, worn over a silk-satin slip. She opted for a deep V back neckline in her lace top, and we changed the shape of the front neckline to suit. Other than that, Jodie’s gown was exactly as per the original design.

Jodie comes from Huddersfield, but she and her husband Dan both work as teachers over in the Seychelles. Jodie initially came to see me while they were back home visiting family over Christmas, then I blocked out the three weeks before her wedding to work exclusively on her gown.

Jodie and Dan married at The Wold Top Brewery in North Yorkshire. The weather was kind to them (perhaps they brought the sunshine with them from the Seychelles?), and their outdoor ceremony and picnic lunch out on the grass were able to take place without a hitch. Jodie and Dan’s headteacher and close friend took on the role of celebrant, and married them in front of an emotional gathering of family and friends.

“Thank you for being a special part of our day and for making my dress. I had the happiest day ever and I think when I’m sad I’ll just have to put it back on to bring back the love and laugh like on the front of the card. A magic dress by a magic lady! Thank you for being so kind to me – I think you laced it into the fabric :) as I certainly felt very much loved.” Jodie
