Michelle had a very clear vision of the dress she wanted when she came to see me, with only one element left undecided – fabric colour. Michelle was keen to opt for a coloured or patterned fabric, and we looked at lots of bright and varied options before she settled on an embroidered silk dupion covered in tiny brown and cream flowers and leaves.

Michelle's 1950s inspired tea length dress featured crossover V necks at front and back. The top of the dress was ruched to create texture, and we added a brown silk sash with a bow at the back to accentuate Michelle's petite waist. I sourced a bespoke petticoat with ivory satin bound edging from Petticoats A Plenty, and kept Michelle's 1950's inspired skirt beautifully kicked out.

Michelle married her partner Adam at The Ashes in Endon. Michelle was ably assisted by family and friends in creating lots of amazing crafty details to personalise the venue – flowers made from crocheted wool and ribbon, painted tea light holders, cycling-inspired table centrepieces and reams and reams of colourful bunting.
