Late Spring woodland wedding editorial among the bluebells
When photographer Emily Joan shared some dreamy pictures on Instagram that she’d taken among the bluebells, I got in touch straight away to ask if we could go and create some more together.
I asked my lovely friend Grace – the first ever model of my wedding dresses a whole ten years ago (!) – if she fancied popping a dress on and hanging out in the woods with us, and luckily, she did.
Ethereal lace wedding gown and silk slip dress
I chose the Astrantia two-piece gown: French lace over-dress worn over a silk-satin slip dress. I felt that this ethereal and gentle gown was the perfect fit for the natural setting and dappled woodland light, and for Emily’s nostalgic, cinematic photography style. I asked Grace to keep on all her own jewellery, which kept the vibe really laid back and less overtly bridal than usual, and we spent a lovely hour or so together making these beautiful pictures.
I made Grace’s wedding dress back in 2016, and you can see images from her wedding here.
Emily and I first met earlier this year when she asked me to collaborate on a romantic same-sex editorial shoot – more images from that can be seen on the blog here.
