My final seasonal collaboration with Shelley Richmond turned out just beautifully. The sun shone on a clear Autumn afternoon - the first time on these four shoots that we haven’t had to dodge the rain!
Our setting was Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens once again, as it was for both the Winter Green and Spring Blossom shoots. This Gardens are so large, and the planting so varied, that its the ideal place to return to and achieve a different look as the seasons change.
For our first looks our stunning model Megan wore my Wild Lupin gown. The gold silk behind Wild Lupin’s bold lace echoed the Autumn leaves and the colours of the florals that Campbells Flowers put together for us, mostly made up of cuttings from Shelley’s garden. Loose curled hair and a bold flower crown pinned into place expertly by Jenn finished off this whimsical and bohemian look.
We then changed Megan into an original vintage 1940s crepe dress, with a horizontally panelled skirt. This beautiful dress is one of my favourite vintage gowns, and it looked incredible on Megan. Jenn took Megan’s hair up and added Debbie Carlisle’s Sylvie hair vine – worn around the front of the head here to stunning effect.
I’m a little sad these seasonal shoots are over now! So many beautiful images captured by Shelley though – its a pleasure to have been part of them.
