It’s always a treat to work with the dreamy duo photographer Emma Pilkington and hair & make-up artist Sarah Morten. These two work together frequently, and complement one another so well – shoots are always a lovely, calm day spent in their company.

Creating content for bridal brands

This latest shoot was one of their new bridal content days – an opportunity for independent wedding brands to collaborate on a shoot vision pulled together by Emma and Sarah. A great opportunity to create new images without the costs and organization required for a solo shoot. For this shoot the theme was Modern Boho, and Emma and I worked together to choose dresses that would fit.

Styling looks: silk wedding dresses, jumpsuits and lace tops

We limited ourselves to five of my designs, opting for the Gladioli and Agapanthus bias-cut silk gowns, the silver silk Cosmos slip dress which we also shot worn with a new silver lace top, Forget Me Not jumpsuit - to which we added the Sweet Pea lace top - and the Agapanthus satin-georgette dress.

We shot Gladioli with our iridescent beads belt, Amaryllis with our pearls veil, and Forget Me Not with our ruffle edge, two-tier Beba veil.

Adding in exquisite bridal accessories

Each of these looks were styled with pieces that had been sent to Emma’s Manchester studio by three accessory makers, which Sarah, Emma and I paired with my dresses. Sarah created two different hair styles on our model - also a Sarah - and varied the eye and lip colours she used to change up the looks.

Luna & Wild created the dried and preserved flower headpieces and earrings.
Clare Lloyd designed and made the hand-wired and beaded hair accessories and pearl earrings.
Nomada by Rachel handmakes earrings from freshwater pearls and shells.

Our model Sarah was blown away with how good my dresses looked and felt to wear, which is always a delight to hear!
